Introduction
Mental illnesses rarely stands on it’s own. Like a horrible school ground bully it gangs up on you with other unpleasant ‘bullies’ such as insomnia, stress, alopecia, self harm… the ‘bullying’ can vary in form and affect people in different ways. These ‘bullies’ often intensify the main bully (the original mental illness) and makes things feel a million times worse for the sufferer. In my own experience I found that my mental illness lead to sleep problems (insomnia), IBS and chronic fatigue, which then made my mental illness even more torturous. On these ‘Related Conditions’ pages, I will be looking at the various common conditions that tend to follow the onset of metal illness.
- Alopecia
- Chronic fatigue
- Fibromyalgia
- Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS)
- Insomnia
- Self harm
- Stress
